Professional Statement
Professional Statement:
I became a speech-language pathologist because I’ve always had a love for language and a desire to help children find their voice. Over the years, I’ve developed a strong interest in working with children, including those with autism, language delays, speech sound disorders, and a variety of other needs. In my therapy sessions, I take a child-led approach, following each child’s interests to make learning meaningful and engaging. I also value working closely with families, helping them feel confident and involved in supporting communication at home. I believe every child has unique strengths, and I focus on building confidence as much as skills. Being an SLP gives me the chance to combine connection, problem solving, flexibility, and even a little fun while helping children grow and communicate in their own unique ways.
Why did you become a speech-language pathologist?
I became a speech-language pathologist because I have a passion for language and a desire to help children find their voice—in whatever way is meaningful for them and their families.
